Bibimbap Recipe

Bibimbap or Bibimbop literally translates to mixed rice. It essentially is a variety of mixed vegetables and sliced meat that are sautéed and stir fried, these are then served on a bed of white rice .And all of this is topped with a fried or semi boiled egg and some times evens raw egg ( I won’t suggest that but if you’re brave enough to go there, let me know how it goes!)

The dish is meant to be thoroughly mixed and then devoured.

BiBimBap is seasoned with a sauce made out of a Korean chili paste called Gochujang and soy sauce or doenjang ( a fermented soybean paste).

It is super easy to make , It is similar to making Chinese food ( involves sautéing vegetables quickly and a few steps) .

It is the perfect meal comprising of protein, carbs and fiber.Winner meal idea right here my friends!

  • In a bowl add beef, half of garlic paste, half the sauce and let sit for 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Meanwhile in a stock pot bring water to boil, add 2 teaspoons salt. Add rice and boil for 8 minutes. Drain and put aside.

  • In a wok or a heavy bottomed skilled add 3 tablespoons of oil , heat it to high and add beef once the pan is very very hot.Stir Fry Meat for a few minutes until brown, don’t overcook it.

  • Now , In a small frying pan, fry eggs with the yolks remaining runny. I usually put a lid on top and cook them on high heat for 2 -3 minutes

To Assemble:

Divide rice in four bowls. And arrange beef and vegetables around the rim, leaving space in the middle for the eggs. Carefully, place the eggs in the middle. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and Drizzle Sriracha Sauce to taste!
