Some times only a good burger will suffice. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love burgers. These burgers are grilled to perfection and then topped with caramelized onions and peppers as well as sautéed mushrooms. Topped with my sriracha mayo( It is in my previous recipes), you wouldn’t regret this carb fest.I have used an indoor grill to make these but you can of course use your outdoor grill for these . This Recipe yields eight burgers. Ingredients for Burgers: -2 pounds of Ground Beef -2 teaspoons garlic salt -2 teaspoons black pepper -1 teaspoon cayenne pepper -2 teaspoons paprika powder -1/2 teaspoon Salt -2 teaspoons Mustard -2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce -1 egg Directions: Drain excess liquid from the ground beef. In a mixing bowl put all the ingredients listed above, mix well and leave to sit for half and hour at least. You can leave it to rest in fridge for a couple of hours as well. For the Toppings: Ingredients: -2 medium onions , thinly sliced -1 bell pepper thinly sliced -A pound of sliced mushrooms or 1 can of mushrooms( drained) -1 teaspoon raw sugar -Worcestershire Sauce -1 tablespoon Olive Oil -Salt and Black Pepper to taste Directions: In a saucepan, add Oil, Onions, Peppers, Sugar , a tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce. Season with Salt and Pepper , mix and let this cook on low for fifteen to twenty minutes until onions and peppers are caramelized, now move them to the side of the pan and add mushrooms to the side , season with salt and pepper and a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and cook on medium until they are brown . Assembly: Heat up a grill to high and coat with oil. Form burger patties and place on hot grill, cook for a few minutes on each side, flipping only once. Heat up the burger buns and place burger patties, then onions and peppers and the sautéed mushroom.Smother your favorite sauce on the other side of the bun! Enjoy! I would love it if you make and tag #thespicedhome. Feedback is always loved.
